At a time when sponsorship and external funding are difficult to obtain, the ESO relies on its Friends organisation for support, through subscription and fund-raising events.
The Friends have made over £200,000 available for the sponsorship of our concerts, youth orchestras, care home visits and orchestra equipment. In some cases this has allowed us to proceed with events that would otherwise not have been feasible.
This support is not only financial, however. The Friends of the ESO have a unique level of input into our artistic and educational development, and many act in an advisory as well as voluntary capacity, helping with the music library, concert promotion, regular mail-outs, and at the concerts themselves.
In return the Friends receive discounts and priority booking for our concerts, as well as newsletters and invitations to ESO Friends events.
